Congrats to Taj Burrow and Josh Kerr, an all aussy final with Josh scoring a perfect 10.0 and taking the 6*Prime Win. I got the full coverage with amazing footage from the semi-finals including a little chat with the boys!
I had an amazing time on the Gold Coast, now I’m off to Western Australia for the Margaret River Master’s WQS Event. For only having to get across the country, it was a freaking mission! Dropped the rental car off to take a taxi to the train station to get a ticket for the Brisbane Airport just to get ripped off on board fees to fly to W.A, where we re-rented a car to drive 4 hours to Perth in the middle of the night trying not to get lost since the contest could potentially start at 8am. EEEK!
Just found out that the Gudauskas Boys are staying right next door to my pad on the Gold Coast, so I snuck over for some laughs and then we cooked up a mean BBQ chicken dinner.
Casio and the crew flew over to Australia to meet up and shoot some surf and model shots. It was a very successful shoot, minus my almost broken toe. I can’t even describe what happened in words so you just have to watch and see for yourself the pain inflicted on the little pinky that almost didn’t make it home
Event Status = ON I had an amazing, woke up early and caught a few waves at Snapper, and when I say few I mean literally 3. EVERYONE was out which made it extremely difficult to catch waves. I did a few run arounds before I gave up and just parted with the fact that Green Mount is where I was meant to surf. Check out the video for some Quiky Pro Surf action and see what other Cali Girl I ran into on the other side of the world.
For another rainy filled day, we are making the most of it. We hit up Burleigh Heads for a quick surf session in the a.m. followed by a mean bowling session in the p.m. Im not claiming any bowling skills here, but I did come awfully close to taking out Mr. J.Smith himself.
I’m on the Gold Coast of Australia during the Quiky Pro where Im staying in an awesome apartment that over looks Snapper Rocks. Heres an intro of what my blog is about, straight into the start of what will hopefully be a trip to remember. Which I can already vouch for considering my first surf session was threatened with a tsunami warning and everyone was pulled out of the water. No-more spoiler alerts, you have to take a look at the video!
